OUR ANNUAL ROUND UP. Our Diamond Jubilee!
Celebrating 70 years in the high Sierra! Make plans to come up this year. We'd love to see you in Camp again and we'd love to hear your stories.
Every year we try and round-up as many of our crusty and trusty BSA Alumni to again gather around our campfire alongside our newly minted Alumni made up of our friends and families that had never experienced Camp before as Scouts. New Alumni are welcomed into Camp as well.
We love to regale them with our Camp stories of years gone by as Scouts in Camp Silverado. In our past round-ups we have mustered these names from our Camp’s history: Eric Summers, Ward Hamilton, John Bardessono, ‘Duck’ Lee, Deb Budding, Mike Barron and Ron Milani. We hope we see a couple of these Oldtimers around our campfire again.
Expect a BBQ Saturday dinner.
NEW THIS YEAR, establishing a new annual event "Chili Contest".
Be sure to indicate on your Registration whether or not you are competing. Check back here on the calendar to see who else is coming up this weekend.

Saturday is a planned pot-luck dinner and Chili Judging usually start eating around 4 PM, Campfire lit around 6. Music starts after dinner. Come in Friday or sooner. Spend the night or just come on up for the day. Stay through Monday if you'd like and leave Tuesday morning to avoid traffic on Hwy 50.
FOCS will supply meat for the BBQ and you should plan on bringing enough side dish for 6-8 people. Any special diets - you'll be on your own.
Bring something to share.
If your last name ends in:
A-E … Appetizers (plan to be early because that's what apps are for)
F-J … Salads / bread
K-O ... Side dishes / bread
P-T … Deserts (plan on staying stay later around the fire)
U- Z … Drinks bring chest and ice (be early)
I'll adjust via email, if we are all Zimmermans.
A gathering of alumni with lots of food, drinks, campfires, and fun.
We have had upwards of 45 people in Camp for this event, you will not have a problem finding someone to share your Camp stories with. As an alumni of Camp you are invited to join us in your Camp. Pay up your dues and bring your family for 1-4 days of camping in Camp.
You are encouraged to bring any campfire musical instrument that you play and scan your memories for the words to all those old Camp songs.
- Members ... reach out to your Camp brothers. Members will need to RSVP here on this calendar adding your guests, contact Del for the weekend project goal (1662del@gmail.com), bring tools and come up to work a bit on Camp projects.
- The person RSVPing needs to be a paid up FOCS member - Your friends in your group do not need to be Alumni, previous Scouts or Staff. Introduce friends and family to your Camp.
- This is a good time to introduce new people to Camp. Newbies can earn alumni status and FOCS Members can earn sweat equity. Four days of work pays your dues for a year.
This calendar event just shows a weekend visit. However midweek visits are encouraged and welcomed. Choose the weekend close to your planned visit dates and enter in your arrival and departure dates with accuracy and we will make arrangements to make sure the Gate is unlocked.
ALL WATER coming out of ANY spigot in Camp is to be considered non-potable.
